Cerro Tronador y Ventisquero Negro
Full-day tour to Cerro Tronador, the highest mountain in Nahuel Huapi National Park, with a stop at the Ventisquero Negro (Black Glacier) viewpoint.

Full description
This full-day tour heads into the southern part of Nahuel Huapi National Park, reaching the area around Cerro Tronador, the highest mountain in the park. The route follows the shores of Lakes Gutierrez and Mascardi, with around 35 km of paved road and 45 km of gravel, and several photo stops to take in the Patagonian mountain scenery.
One of the highlights is the Ventisquero Negro viewpoint, a dark-toned glacier formed by built-up ice, soil and sediment. From there you can see the summit of Cerro Tronador and its glaciers. The tour then continues to the base of the mountain, with free time for lunch and to explore the surroundings before heading back to Bariloche. In winter, the National Park usually closes the section between the Ventisquero Negro and the base of the mountain, so the lunch stop is made at Pampa Linda instead.
